Product Description It seems almost unimaginable that the God who created the universe and all that is in it would know each and every one of our names! But the Bible says that it is so. Scripture also tells us that He knows the number of hairs on our heads, that we cannot hide from Him, and that He hears our thoughts. In fact, God's Word abounds with references about His tender care for all His creatures, both great and small. To help young children grasp these wonderful truths, Debby Anderson has created a fun, colorful book. This simple story brings to life more than a dozen Scripture verses, and the author has included the references so that kids can see these great promises in God's own book. God Knows My Name is a natural tool for every parent, grandparent and teacher to use in planting the Bible in young hearts.

This is my FAVORITE for my children, and theirs as well (and we have no shortage of great books!). In fact, I am online to order a new one because ours is in shreds! I also love the gospel trac by the same title. This book is a perfect gift for a friend's child, or for your very own~ communicating a vital truth that we all want our children to grow up with. I am so impressed with this author's talent (in word, art and heart) that I am excited to purchase some of her other titles as well, (esp. the kindness one, will that help curb a few of our struggles between the lil' sisters?? worth a try...) Ok, I'm a fan! :-) (with little fans chasing after me!~ thanks, Debby, if you read this~ we'd be honored to meet you someday! :-)
Wonderful Children's Book! Sep 6, 2008
Yet another jewel by Debby Anderson! We love this book about God's precious relationship with children. What a wonderful introduction for young ones to the character and love of God. Such an exciting message for children, to know that a great big God knows them by name! The illustrations are adorable, too! Our family recommends all of Ms. Anderson's books!
A Must Have! Jan 11, 2008
This whole series by Anderson is terrific. Each book provides solid theology in easy to understand words & kid friendly pictures. My 3 year old enjoys them and I enjoy the Truth that's being planted in her heart & mind.
Theology made easy for preschoolers May 11, 2007
God Knows My Name is a delightful book teaching children about God's omniscience. Written and illustrated by Debby Anderson, it explains in clear and simple fashion how God knows everything -- from the number of hairs on our heads to the names of every star. The author incorporates direct questions to the readers throughout the text. It invites children to interact with the illustrations ("Can you find the ...?") and the content ("What's your favorite color? Surprise! God already knew it!") Scripture references are given on nearly every page offering supports and the opportunity for further biblical study. The illustrations are colorful and happy, featuring children (and names) of all ethniticities.
What I Like: The diversity is fantastic! The text is doctrinally sound and age appropriate. The author does a fantastic job making this faith foundation inviting and exciting to children. My kids love the illustrations! And I love the Scriptural supports. It's wonderful to be able to go right to Scripture and remind the kids: "See? This is true! This is what God's Word says ..."
What I Dislike: At some points, the text seems disjointed. The flow seems to stutter and jump a bit. Because of this, I found a couple spots redundant -- almost as if we were backing up to go forward.
Overall Rating: Very Good.

Great Job Aug 2, 2005
Debbie Anderson does an incredible job with this book. The artwork is great, very vivid pictures and bright colors that capture the attention of any young child. The message of the book is great also. Anderson applies simple truths from the Bible that encourage the application of God's word to young hearts. Bible refrences on every page. Very well written in a way that engages children and teaches big truths. Drawbacks are that the book is a bit pricey for a childrens book, and it is not very long.
