I didn't want a divorce--but the marriage had already died.
I didn't want a divorce--but my spouse left me and got one anyway.
I didn't want a divorce--but even though my religious convictions oppose it, I had to do it for my mental health and physical well-being.
No matter how opposed to divorce you and your church may be, and no matter how much you may want to stay married, you may become a divorce statistic this year. Divorce affects one out of every four marriages today.
Andre Bustanoby writes this book to people caught in a trap and seeking to put their lives back together. In the author's words, "You must be willing to be a healed single person rather than an ever-grieving divorcee."
This book answers the practical and biblical questions raised by the specter of divorce and redemptively seeks to bring healing for the emotional pain of divorce. Andre Bustanoby offers wise, experienced counsel for dealing with separation, divorce laws, the children of divorce, loneliness, guilt, sexuality, and remarriage. He provides a careful examination of the biblical principles governing divorce and second marriage.
If you are facing a divorce or have already experienced it-even though you didn't want it-you cannot afford not to read this book. There is healing and acceptance for you in putting your life back together again.

 | good Biblically based advice Jan 1, 2005 |
| I have read several books on this subject, and what distinguishes this one is a thorough discussion on the Biblical basis of divorce and remarriage. The book, written in the 70s, is somewhat dated in its references to society, but overall very helpful. | | | | Putting Your Life Back Together After An Unwanted Divorce May 31, 2000 |
| Andre Bustanoby has put together a brief (165 pages) and excellent synopsis of the issues when a divorce is forced upon a spouse. Chapters 2 (Letting go of your spouse), 8 (Lonliness), &9 (Loving and respecting yourself) are especially helpful when the couple's children are older and on their own. This is not a technical book, it's a practical book. Those going through an unwanted divorce are telling me they benefitted from reading it. It's a great 'Open Door' for discussion when both the counselor and client have read it. The focus is on rescuing rather than excusing or blaming. I highly recommend this book to be a part of anyone's repertoir who has an interest in this subject. | | | Write your own review about But I Didnt Want A Divorce
