Picking up where the previous book, Peter The Fisherman (Bibletime Books), left off, this book begins with the transfiguration of Christ, the Last Supper, Peter's subsequent denial of Christ, Christ's resurrection and appearance to the disciples as well as Peter's restoration and ends with Peter jumping out of the fishing boat running to shore to have breakfast with the resurrected Lord. This book is followed by Peter - The Apostle (Bibletime) where you will learn how Peter continued to serve God even in difficult times. This book starts with the miracle of Pentecost and continues to trace the Apostle Peter's ministry, including miracles that showed he had authority to preach and teach about repentance and baptism.
This Bibletime book is superbly well written with greater depth than typical Bible passages retold in story form for children. Young readers who still enjoy picture books but ready for more text will appreciate this book and others in the Bibletime series. The illustrations are well done and appealing without depicting graphic detail.
My son, who just turned 7 says that he "really enjoys the Bibletime books since they contain more details than his other `Kids Bibles' but aren't as `tough' as reading the big Bible with no pictures."
