Description This epic network television mini-series brings to life the precarious existence of early Christianity. The new movement is beset by violent opposition from without and constant turmoil from within. Two key leaders emerge--Peter and Paul--who struggle to keep the faith alive. This dramatic presentation follows the pair, together and separately, through three epochal decades. Included are the stoning of Stephen, the road to Damascus, their encounter in Jerusalem, their conflicts over how the word of Christ should be spread. Paul's travels to Asia Minor and Greece, Peter and Paul's clashes over Jewish law, and Peter's decision to follow in Paul's courageous footsteps. The drama concludes in Rome in approximately A.D. 64 with the beheading of Paul and the crucifixion of Peter under Emperor Nero.

This is an awesome movie portrayal of the life of Peter and Paul. It picks up after Jesus leaves them to establish His church. As you read in the book of Acts, Paul starts out seeking to eliminate the Christian church and ends up being it's greatest promoter. This movie does a great job of portraying the struggles of Peter and Paul and hold very true to the Bible. I had it in VHS and gave that to a friend only to purchase it on DVD. I have watched it several times and it always brings the book of Acts to life for me!
Inaccurate Jan 27, 2008
This move was a failure. It nowhere near follows the Bible at all. This is pure blasphemy rolled up into a DVD. Not only is it blasphemy, but the acting could be done better by a group of children.
Do not buy this. Was a waste of my time and money.
Good buy Jan 1, 2008
Minor inaccuracies, but over all a good buy. Acting seemed fair but a little too "western" at the same time.
Peter and Paul DVD Nov 1, 2007
This is a super video for all ages. It's pretty accurate according to the Book of Acts, and has good acting and convincing dialog. This was used for a religious education module in a parochial school.
Wonderful Acting and Biblically Accurate. Oct 29, 2007
Considering how Hollyweird typically butchers anything related to the Scriptures, this made for TV production is quite a pleasant surprise. Much more Biblically accurate than anything else I have ever seen produced for TV, this production is wonderfully acted by Anthony Hopkins and a slew of other great actors. Very moving and very inspiring, I highly reccomend this for Bible Study and personal viewing. This also accurately depicts the personality differences between these two men yet shows how their great Love for Christ allowed them to put their personal differences aside for the good of the Gospel of Christ. Great learning tool!
