I think what is most startling about this video is how awesome it makes slavery out to be. Aside from being a little bummed out when he is first sold, Joseph seems not to mind being a slave and in fact is rewareded for not bucking the system.
Combined with the fact that there are no brown people in the entire cartoon, this makes for a very scary way to brainwash your children. Seriously, guys. They were in Egypt. They're ALL brown there.
If you want to impart bible stories to your kids, don't use this video. If, on the other hand, you want them to think slavery is super cool and you want them only to relate to white people, then this is the 'toon for YOU!!
quality biblical "edutainment" for the whole family Oct 30, 2005
This is my favorite story in Genesis. This cartoon version is just perfect for kids or adults. The story is first introduced by Charlton Heston. If the kids start looking around for other things to do, don't worry. The introduction is brief, but it's a good one followed by the cute animated story of Joseph and his coat of many colours which everyone will love. My friend's son was only 2 when he watched part of this and he was glued to it! The characters are cute and all of the Heroes and Legends videos are told in a way that it easy for a child to understand.
