To teach your child some great Bible verses. As a cradle-Catholic who attended Catholic school for twelve years, I felt embarrassed that I could not quote Bible verses. I've learned so much from this myself, and am amazed on a daily basis what my children internalize from these catchy songs. When my 4-1/2 year old is tempted to do something bad, I remind her of Psalm 119:11, "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you." When she disobeys or even hesitates to obey I ask her, "What is Exodus 20:12?" She quickly replies, "Honor your father and mother."
