Action and Rhyme is the key! Nov 9, 2007
My three year old granddaughter can participate in the action in this great story of Jesus feeding the crowds with fish and loaves of bread. The repetitive nature makes it easy to learn. A real crowd pleaser!
This book is one of a series of similar action/rhyme stories. New Day has a great product perfect for teaching your small kids about Bible stories or for Sunday School class fun time. |

The Loaves and the Fishes Sharing food with Jesus Sep 14, 2007
The crowds gather around Jesus to hear his teaching. Illustrator, Chris Saunderson, has captured the feeling of the people in their facial expressions. As the morning wears on and moves into the late afternoon, there is a rumble of stomachs as the people become hungry. A young boy gives his food, five rolls and two fish. Jesus offers thanks for the food. As he breaks the bread and gives out the fish there is enough for everyone and twelve basketfuls left over left over. Stephanie Jeffs shares the story and action suggestions in ways that will the child remember sitting on the grass hearing Jesus, his prayer of thanksgiving and the miracle of feeding the crowds. Young readers and their parents will all feel that they have shared a picnic with Jesus and His followers. Reviewed by Richard R. Blake, a Christian Education Consultant

Story of bread and fishes made accessible for kindergarten crowd Jul 7, 2007
My son laughed when he saw the bread in this book - he said it looked like chocolate chip cookies and fish! But it didn't matter, he loved this telling of the New Testament story of Jesus, his "posse", and the dilemma of feeding a hoard of new followers. This is a great title to pull out preThanksgiving or other food-oriented holiday. Terrifically illustrated by Chris Saunderson.
