Awesome, solid scriptural teaching by a true hero of the Word! Dec 10, 2007
R.T. Kendall is not as well-known as some other modern-day Christian pastor/writers, but he should be! He is one of the most deeply spiritual and insightful, not to mention super sensitive to people, Christian leaders I have ever come across in my reading of tons of Christian books! He is just so in-depth and prayerful and utterly awesome. I come away from all of his books, this one included, with a fresh, revitalized perspective on God, Christ, life, sin, death and the world. I recommend all of his books because they are that good. Truly a hero of the Word!
Thank God for R. T. Kendall! Feb 24, 2006
R. T. Kendall is the greatest Christian Author of our time. His books have comforted me on many levels in my times of extreme trial. His writings reflect an intimate knowlege of God that goes beyond theology, even though he is an esteemed theologian. I haven't read of another author than can see far beyond the obvious and unfold revelation of God's ways in such a delightful manner as Dr. Kendall does. His own personal background and experience with both the Lord and the sometimes humorous church cultures made me laugh out loud! If you never quite understood how the loving God of the New Testament could be the same one as in the legalistic Old Covenent with His list of laws, semmingly impossible to keep, Kendall puts it into persepective through his in-depth study of the Sermon on the Mount, and WHY the Old Testament law was given in the first place!
After reading this book, you will find yourself loving God more. Your life with God will turn into a relationship and not a list of do's and don'ts. As the understanding of the Grace of God emerges we all can.... "Love God, and then do as you please". Reading this book on grace felt like God was speaking to my questions. Many thanks to R. T. Kendall and I can't wait to order another one of his books!
