The text in this series (Bible Wise) is more advanced or detailed than the text in the Bibletime series by the same author and publisher; which provides greater detail and richness. The suggested age range for independent readers is 6-9 years and my 7 year old would certainly be able to handle it quite well, however, due to the more graphic nature of the illustrations I would not be comfortable in giving this book to my son. Children capable of reading at this level can easily read the Bible itself without the illustrations.
While I truly appreciate the author's writing, this book and other titles in the Bible Wise series merits a 3 star rating from me simply because of the illustrations employed. The imagery in the Bible Wise series as compared with the illustrations in the Bibletime series is much more detailed, realistic and potentially frightening to younger children. | | | Write your own review about Elijah: God's Miracle Man (Biblewise)
