Honest and thorough Nov 5, 2007
This is a comprehensive commentary on the Bible by the scholar M. Henry. He presents his commentary in an honest, forthright way. It is well done and is a vivid interpretation of Scripture. A must have for all Christians! The book is very large and well put-together. Most sellers are giving bargain prices; you won't be sorry.
Great scholarly work in the mindset of theology! Oct 27, 2007
While one man could never attempt to contain in one book the breadth and knowledge to God's word, Mathew Henry in this work has expounded biblical meaning in many different ways to help the reader. His elaboration into the history of a subject brings the Old Testament to the fore front of the readers mind reading in the New Testament. And the elaboration Henry brings puts focus on the ideas of each chapter and greatly helps relate what is taught; also into one specific intention for each chapter. I am very happy with this study aide because it brings back things one might have missed or not even considered from a reading, which is why I read Henry's Commentary after my Bible study. I would recommend this to anyone who wishes to further study the Bible and to get a good grasp of the material.
