As a leader, Washington did not seek personal power or privilege. His acceptance of the leadership of the new army and of the new nation came with humility, faith, and trust in God. We should seek out and encourage the best of Washington's qualities in those that lead us today. Role models, including teachers, parents, community leaders, and elected officials can demonstrate compassionate leadership everyday for our children to emulate.
