Unit 1: Remembering Jesus (Lent)
As we go into the Lenten season, how appropriate to have the children go through a time of remembering. Who was Jesus? What did he do? Who were his friends? What did Jesus teach? All these things are included as the children hear the stories of Holy Week, leading up to Easter.
Unit 2: Easter
Jesus is alive! How do we know? His tomb was empty! They saw him! Mary Magdalene, mary, and Salome saw the empty tomb and heard the angel?s message. Cleopas and Simon saw Jesus on the road to Emmaus. And finally on that hilltop in Galilee, Jesus appears to all of them and tells them to spread the Word. He promises them a special gift that will empower them like nothing else has ever done before. Then Jesus leaves to be with God.
Unit 3: People of Faith (New Testament)
What became of the disciples then? Did they freeze in fear? Did they go into hiding? Did they keep to themselves? They did not! The third unit tells about how the good news of Jesus Christ spread throughout the world so that even today, over two thousand years later, we hear the story of Jesus.
