Units 2 & 3: Parables and Teachings
Jesus often used stories called parables to help the people know about God and to understand what God called them to do and to be. Jesus used these common images of life in Bible times to convey his message. Many of these experiences are beyond the scope of our children?s experiences. But during this unit, we will help the children relate to stories such as the Good Samaritan, The Lost Sheep, The Sower & the Seed, The Forgiving Father, The Two Houses, The Pharisee & the Tax Collector, and The story of the Mustard Seed.

Unit 1: Good News!The Savior is coming. Good News! The Savior is born. Children will hear the good news of the Savior's birth through the stories of Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth, the shepherds, and Simoen and Anna. This good news changed their lives forever.
Unit 2: Following Jesus The children will begin with the wise men who followed a star to find the new baby king and go with Jesus, now a man, as he calls disciples to him to learn about God and God's Kingdom.
Unit 3: Teachings of Jesus Children will hear what it truly means to be a follower of Jesus, then and today. One Teacher Book is included in the Winter Resource Kit (0687036194). If an additional Teacher Book is needed, order this resource.
