| I had this book as a child, although the version I had was longer and more PC. This is a great word learning book. The only drawback is that all the characters are animals, so it has to be for a child who knows the animals are simply playing people roles and doing people things. I would recommend to anyone with kids. You cannot go wrong with this book. It explores the home, the market, cars, trucks, planes, and other concepts that are around them sometimes and that they see not only in person, but possibly on t.v. or talk about in school in class or with family and friends. This wonderful book has been around for years, teaching generations of kids the wonderful world of words. Richard Scarry organizes words under categories, such as tools, the playground, the supermarket, etc. It's a fun way to learn, and the illustrations are fabulous and vibrant.
