Product Description Why Do We Have Difficulty Accepting God's Unconditional Forgiveness? And Why Do We Find It So Impossible to Grant That Same Forgiveness to Others? The bottom-line issue of life is forgiveness -- that's the conclusion of Dr. Robert Jeffress after more than two decades in Christian ministry, and most of us would agree. Yet few of us have mastered the art of implementing forgiveness in our lives. Combining rich, biblical insights with practical, real-life situations, When Forgiveness Doesn't Make Sense effectively answers your burning questions regarding this critical issue, giving you not only the "why's" but also the elusive "how's" of choosing to forgive. "Like the skilled surgeon of the Scriptures that he is, Robert Jeffress lays bare the cancerous tumor of unforgiveness and walks his reader through the confusing and sometimes thorny path to peace." Howard G. Hendricks, distinguished professor and chairman Center for Christian Leadership, Dallas Theological Seminary "Anger, hurt feelings, and even betrayal can emotionally and spiritually tie us in knots. What Robert Jeffress does is show us biblically and practically how to 'untie the knots.' If you've struggled with forgiving others -- or even God -- this is your book." John Trent, Ph.D., author and speaker president, Encouraging Words "Dr. Jeffress makes sense out of giving forgiveness when it sometimes seems so senseless. With each page of this book, he opens the door to healing and grace." Les Parrott III, Ph.D., Seattle Pacific University author of The Control Freak Inside: A detailed look at the surprising results of the Barna Research Group's specially commissioned national opinion study of Americans' views on forgiveness.

| Robert Jeffress does an excellent job in presenting a concise and understandable approach to exploring the dilemma people face with the act of forgiveness. The book is well-written, organized and divided into segments that deal with problems, solutions and resolutions. He provides interesting anecdotes that clearly explain his points. The books provides a study guide that assists in using the information for Bible study, sermon notes and general review of the topic. Jeffress's writing style creates interest and information for the reader and provides much needed insight into the topic. | | | | It helped save my family Aug 29, 2006 |
| A friend gave me this book 4 weeks after I had found out my husband was having an affair, but wanted to stay with the family. Through what I learned from this book I learned how to forgive without becoming bitter and to reconsile. My family is still whole and our marriage is better than it ever has been! | | | | Pain Relief Made Possible May 3, 2000 |
| My office is just a stone's throw from Columbine High, where my daughter will be a cheerleader next year. We've had a lot of pain in our community. I've read lots of books and we've had lots of advice on how to forgive. This book provides solid answers to the questions that we've all been asking. It really stands out from the pack. It's not full of psychological pap. (We've had our fill of that, quite frankly). Jeffress' has an uncanny ability to apply the Bible's ancient wisdom to modern realities. Even before Columbine, like most of us, I had felt the pain of betrayal--and struggled with how to get over it. This book showed me how to rise above it. I recommend it as very accessible, knowing counsel for those struggling with hurt of any kind. It is a balanced, realistic look at what the Bible teaches on the most relevant subject imaginable. The chapter on "Forgiving God" is worth the price of the book all by itself. That's a concept I have found no where else. Get this book for someone you love who is hurting (maybe you!). You'll be glad you did. I checked Jeffress' other books, too, and he seems to have a real gift for motivating his readers on the path of successful living that pleases God. | | | | Book Review Apr 25, 2000 |
| I found this book to be incredibly helpful in addressing the forgiveness issue. As a professional counselor, I believe that forgiveness is the central issue for healing and productive living. Jeffress addresses forgiveness in a biblical and straightforward manner. This book is unique in that Jeffress raises the question that all honest strugglers face, "Where is God and does He care?" Jeffress also reveals his pastors heart by providing real life illustrations in a clear, easy to read manner. This book will challenge your presuppositions about forgiveness and strenghthen your faith in God. This is a must read for everyone, especially pastors, counselors, and people-helpers. | | | Write your own review about When Forgiveness Doesn't Make Sense
