Item Description... Mormonism Unmasked: Confronting The Contradictions Between Mormon Beliefs and True Christianity
Mormons tend to be model citizens-friendly, honest, hopeful, kind-everything that should be expected from a Christian. But, as this book points out, the Mormons aren't Christian at all. The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints is an an extremely powerful and influential religious organization, reaching hundreds of millions of people worldwide. Unfortunately, what the Mormons are propagating is a false god, false Jesus, and false gospel. This incisive book clearly explains the Mormons' basic beliefs and sharply refutes their subtle heresies. After walking the reader through the Mormons' evangelistic techniques and strategies, the book gives Christians easy-to-use guidance on witnessing to Mormons, so they can effectively and lovingly defend the true Christian faith.

 | Just another my myths are better than your myths book Apr 24, 2005 |
I'm sure there are mullahs and ayatollahs who have written why Christianity is a heresy as well. This book is in that category. Well, this book and many of it's cohorts argue against Mormonism on the basis that Mormonism "isn't Christian." Well, it depends on your definition of Christian I suppose. Mormons profess a belief in Jesus Christ though have a different interpretation of who Christ is and what his death and resurrection means within their respective religions. Are Mormons Christians? Frankly I couldn't care less. The hokey revelations of Joseph Smith are certainly different than the paranoid and delusional revelations of John of Patmos. As for evidence, there certainly isn't any evidence that Native Americans are transplanted Jews as the Book of Mormon teaches. Even so, there is no real reliable evidence that a guy named Jesus from Nazareth was crucified and died for the sins of those who believe in him.
I get real nervous when I continue to hear people say "MY RELIGION IS TRUE." What is "TRUE CHRISTIANITY?" By looking at the ignorance and dependence that it spreads, I'd say it isn't all that much better than Mormonism. So let the battle of religious nuts continue on I suppose. We'll continue to hear terms like "yeah but the babble says" and we'll have people live in a world of ignorance and fear.

| | | | Attacks Mormons like Christ was attacked by his enemies! Apr 15, 2005 |
Un-Christianlike methods used here! I wouldn't recommend to anybody that they read stuff about a religion from the enemies of that religion! People should study books and literature from their own religion, put out by their leaders, to find out what they believe! Or, as my 17 year old son likes to say, "Why would you ask a lawyer how to do the work of a doctor?" Instead of tearing down a church, the author should write a book on why his beliefs are so great. Did he do that yet?
I believe the author can't be satisfied, or at peace, as long as it is possible that the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. He has done everything he can to disprove it, and failed miserably.
The Book of Mormon is simply an ancient "journal" of people in another land that Christ visited. Why would God not check on and visit all people in all ages? That's what I find hard to believe, that God only spoke to prophets before Christ, but not after? Hmm. Why would He do that to us? I don't think a loving God would. Do you?

I encourage all people of the Morman faith, especially those who are young in the faith, to research what has not been revealed to you. You will find that Joseph Smith took many liberties with the text of the KJV Bible. As I found out in the latter part of my Morman journey, this religion is not a christian one. Jesus is not the savior of the Morman faith. Heaven is a planet...God has a wife (Heavanly Mother) who mated w/ God to create celestial beings...the Morman faith has undertook the task of baptising of every living person recorded(within or outside the faith) using stand ins. Joseph Smith, the founder of the religion suffered from alcoholism, was an adulter, and went to jail several times. He named himself the prophet, and appointed 12 disiples,(mirroring Christ)a practice that remains today with Gordan B. Hinckly heading the church. By todays standard, this religion (the world's richest and fastest growing) would no doubt be labled a cult."Do not add or take away from this book, for whosoever shall do so, his name shall be stricken from the book of life." -Revelations Take heed and find out what your church has not revealed to you.

The uninitiated lap up this pseudo-scholarship. Take any issue you find in this book, and conduct your own objective research, not aiming towards proving it true or false; and you will find every time with this author it is sometimes a gross perversion of truth, and other times it is a deliberate lie.
If you want real scholarship, read Mormonism, by Edward Watson. 98% of his reference are from non-Mormon scholars. | | | | dum dum dum Sep 9, 2004 |
| i think this book is absolutely ridiculous and the writer needs to spend his time doing something better with his life instead of bashing other peoples beliefs. He should focus on helping those of his own religion. He should take some lessons from the members of the church and see how they base their life on building a stronger relationship with jesus christ and heavenly father...what a loser. It seems to me that all those that actually believe this crap are too easily influenced and those members of the church that are swayed by this information are morons. If mormons are christian because they base all their beliefs on christs life and becoming more like him then who is chrisitan... i would truly like someone to tell me what a true christian is because i think this man is severely mistaken. | | | Write your own review about Mormonism Unmasked
