Book Description
Coming Unglued is the second book in the SISTERS, INK series of novels. At the center of the creativity and humor are four unlikely young adult sisters, each separately adopted during early childhood into the loving home of Marilyn and Jack Sinclair.
Ten years after their mother Marilyn has died, the multi-racial Sinclair sisters (Meg, Kendra, Tandy, and Joy) still return to her converted attic scrapbooking studio in the small town of Stars Hill, Tennessee, to encourage each other through life’s highs and lows. They’ve even turned their artistic passion into a new local scrapbooking business known as Sisters, Ink.
Coming Unglued focuses on painter and musician Kendra who struggles with her sense of self-worth—a struggle that only intensifies when she realizes a “friendship” developed with a guy at a jazz club is actually an emotional affair. With her sisters’ help, Kendra strives to do what’s right, embracing the call to safeguard her heart and mind and hold fast to God’s truth and grace.

Liked Better than First Book  Mar 14, 2010
I liked Kendra's story a LOT better than I did Tandy's. I felt that the characters were more fully developed in this book. Also there wasn't as much talking in third person about the sisters in this story as in the first book. It's a minor quibble but it just was a lot better and more realistic to not include it in this book. I did like very much how even though Kendra is involved in two interracial relationships, race is not an issue at all. Granted there were other obstacles and barriers in the relationships but thankfully nothing is mentioned about Kendra being African-American. It's nice to read a Christian fiction novel where someone can just date another person and race just doesn't matter at all. Believe me, it makes more a statement than to constantly bring it up and point out the differences between people.

This is a bit of a spoiler but I really did not like how Harrison's character ended up. It frustrates me to no end when the cheating husband gets off free and clear and the mistress is the one who takes the blame. I totally understand how both parties are at fault and I was really surprised that Kendra even offered an apology. But it really bugged me that Harrison's wife only gets mad at HER and we never find out what happens to HIM. It takes TWO to tango and HE is just as much to blame as she did. Sure, she should have stopped the relationship knowing that he was married but HE was the married person who initiated the relationship. Just one of those situations where I did not like how it was resolved in the book and felt that the guy once again gets away with what he did.

Overall as I said I did enjoy the book better than the first in the series. I still didn't feel as if I learned much about scrapbooking but it appears now that the craft is just a background story and not the main focus of the series. The relationships between the sisters and the men in their lives are what's the meat of the story. While the books could be read alone, I would recommend reading them in order of the series to get a better understanding of all the characters.

The sisters are together again, Tandy has moved home and along with her sisters they have started a business, Sisters Ink. All four sisters, Tandy, Kendra, Joy and Meg are partners in the business, with Kendra and Tandy operating the business.
Life is chaotic as usual when the sisters are together, Tandy is planning a wedding, Meg is busy as ever with her children, Joy is anxiously trying to have a baby and Kendra is in deep trouble. Kendra knows it is wrong, but the side of her that tells her she is just like her birth mom, tells her she does not deserve a wonderful man like Darin, whom she has been dating for four months, instead it tells her she only deserves the married man who is pursuing her. Kendra knows this is wrong, but the attraction is deep, and she is in over her head. The sisters recognize Kendra's pattern and try to help, as sisters do. Follow along as Kendra solves her problems, while creating even more at times.
Rebeca has given us another wonderful book, and I am just in love with this author and this series of books. I love how she is really bringing in the faith these sisters have been brought up to have. This book and this publisher have combined to bring us reading that is clean and really wonderful fiction. I highly recommend these books, and give this book a 5 star rating. [...]

Coming Unglued  Feb 9, 2009
Kendra is a vibrant artist, living in a small town with her family. Her sisters Meg, Joy and Tandy all own a business called Sisters Inc. in which they focus on scrapbooking. But the true heart of the story is Kendra's struggle to believe that she is worthy of having anything because of her past. The author shows us this in the form of Kendra's relationship with two men. One a sweet, available man named Darin and the other a married man named Harrison, whom Kendra begins to have an emotional affair with.

This story moves quickly, as the sisters relationship and repore draws you in. The author handles the storyline well and with a Christian prespective.

This was my first book by this author and I don't think it will be my last. Fun, enjoyable read!

5 stars!!!

Sticky Situations in Unglued  Feb 9, 2009

Rebeca Seitz has penned a charming series focusing, one at a time, on the lives of four sisters. Sassy, artistic Kendra helps plan Tandy's wedding while seeming to settle down with the town catch. However, Kendra has an ugly secret, buried deep, hidden away from even her sisters.

The secret is one that hasn't been addressed much within Christian Fiction and is handled well. I applaud Rebeca for tackling this unsettling issue, one that is probably a bigger problem than most of us realize.

I haven't read other books in the series but was impressed with Seitz's story telling and writing skills. Not quite chick-lit lite fare Coming Unglued is definitely heavy in spots though the story ends on a light note.

Sisters! Sisters! Heartwarming & Enjoyable Read!  Sep 21, 2008
Kendra has some deep seeded problems. Dark secrets and pain that she just can't seem to release. Her decisions in life are often not wise choices as her conception of herself is anything but good due to her troubling past. Thank God she has her sisters, and those around her that care and are ready to step up to the plate and do battle for her happiness. She will learn what is important in life and the importance of those who love her, but her way to that decision will not be an easy one.

In this novel we enter the life of Kendra and her sisters, boyfriends, family and friends. We travel with them as mysteries are unraveled, hidden emotions and deep sorrows are brought forth, problems confronted and battles fought and won. It is a story of family, unity and learning to let go at times when it isn't easy to do so, and hold on when that is even harder to do. It is a story of sharing, and learning when it is important to keep silent. It is a story of life, love, and commitment, right, wrong and the grey in-between.

I liked this book. It was at times very upbeat and at other times very serious and mysterious.
Kendra's deep emotional turmoil boiled and bubbled until you knew it would explode like a heated volcano. Good job. The characters were very realistic and the twists and turns of their lives keep the story flowing nicely. The author did a great job pulling you into the storyline and keeping you moving along with each event that transpired, and the ending was great. Very good book.
