Item Description...
Does your child learn best in the morning, afternoon, or evening? Does his reading comprehension increase or decrease when music is played in the background? Does she prefer to study alone or with others? According to nationally respected educators Mariaemma Willis and Victoria Kindle Hodson, our children process information in a multitude of unique ways. What works best for one child is often counterproductive for others. By trying to force all children into the same learning mode we unfairly short-circuit their education as well as their intellectual development. Discover Your Child's Learning Style shows you how to assess and nurture your child's individual learning potential based on his or her talents, interests, disposition, preferred environment, and more. Inside is a step-by-step program of self-awareness tests that guide you to a better understanding of your child's unique strengths and weaknesses, goals and interests, and inner peace. You'll discover how to create the right atmosphere for learning in the home. Most important, you'll help your child excel not only in school but in life as well.

I have found the book very helpful in identifying the learning style of each of my three children, plus my husband and I. It is a very interesting book and the assessments in the book make it easy to identify each style of learning.
Practical help to understand how your child learns May 11, 2006
I am a home schooling mom of a kindergarten age boy who is smart but does not learn in the traditional way. I found this book to be the best resource I have ever found on the subject of learning styles. From comprehensive assessment down to the practical nitty gritty of where to find curriculum and resources to fit your child's style. I would highly recommend this book to all parents.
The best learning style Apr 19, 2006
This was the first book I read before homeschooling. It opened my eyes that we all learn in different ways and the public school cookie cutter does NOT fit all types. I should know, I was one of those misfits in school.
I am one of those homeschool moms that do NOT use a curriculum which shocks most moms I converse with. I use life the good Lord gives me as my curriculum. Ex. math/chemistry for cooking, nature for animal science, road trips for geography or a globe when we talk about a certain place, and that is just to name a few! Take real life as a cirriculum and the learning experience will never end!
Just Opinions Apr 12, 2006
I was very disapointed with this book. It's a large volume of just opinions. The profile is somewhat useful, about 20 pages of good stuff, but the rest could be trashed.
Discover Your Child's Learning Style... Sep 25, 2005
Very good guidelines for anyone interested in understanding how their children learn best. The profile helps you outline the strengths you and your child(ren) can focus on to reach their fullest potential.
