Reviews - What do our customers think?
 | Not his usual eloquent/poetic writing style Feb 2, 2010 |
| I have most of Ravi Z. books, but I could not get into reading this one. The writing style is not like the other books except for Walking From East to West, which I could not finish either. Previous to these books, I enjoyed not only the content but the writing style, which in a way seemed almost poetic. I hope Ravi will return to writing in this manner, other wise I won't be buying his books anymore. | | | | Once again... Sep 24, 2009 |
| Once gain Ravi Zacharias gives up a grand view of God and how He works in our lives. For anyone who wonders what God is doing in their life and how He generally works, this is the book for you. Again, thank your Ravi for this wonderful book and your insights into the God divine plan and how God uses It to change our lives. | | | | The Grand Weaver Aug 20, 2009 |
Ravi--I have used your work to reveal the Gospel of Christ to a number of people. Thank you for a most excellent work revealing the Grand Weaver.
RG | | | | A Great Book on Perspective Aug 13, 2009 |
In this relatively short book, Ravi Zacharias does a very good job at helping one gain some perspective.
He examines eight different areas and gives examples of how those are woven into a life of meaning by God (The Grand Weaver). There are various stories to illustrate his points and the overall book is a real gem.
Shortly after I got into this book, I was telling one of my friends about it and offering to loan it to him. Now that I am done with it, I am thinking that I will have to buy another copy of it if I'm going to loan it out. This is a book that I plan to read and reread. It is one of those that is a very important contribution to one's Christian worldview. | | | | Ok book by a great author and teacher May 15, 2009 |
The Grand Weaver by Ravi Zacharias is a quick read, unusual for this author, this book is a how-to on finding God's will for your life, emphasizing faith in the sovereign plan of God. Using the illustration of the father-son teams of weavers who make the wedding saris of India, Dr. Zacharias talks about the perfection of the Father's plan even when we don't see the design emerging yet. One of his favorite topics is the Trinity: "unity and diversity in community", and he uses it to communicate the love of God for us His children. The second half of the book, comparable to other reformed works on the purpose of a Christian's life, focuses on worship as a way of life. In this book the Anglican roots of the author emerge more than in anything I have read or heard of his, as he revels in the imagery and tradition of the church as it pertains to worship. The best part about this book to me was the quotes, which I can hear Ravi reciting in his crisp Indian-accented English. I wish I could live in his library, because I have no doubt that this Christian apologist owns copies of the cherished volumes he quotes.
To God be all glory, Lisa
